Spring is in the air!  What better way to celebrate the season than with a festive and delicious Spring donut recipe? These donuts are bursting with warm flavors and vibrant colors, making them the perfect treat for any springtime occasion. Whether you’re hosting a brunch, looking for a sweet snack to bake with your kids, or simply want to indulge in a delicious dessert, these spring donuts are sure to please. So put on your apron, grab your mixing bowl, and get ready to have some fun baking a batch of  these mouth-watering springtime delights!

This recipe is easy and kid-friendly, and the result is a festive and tasty dessert that everyone will love. So put on your aprons, grab your ingredients, and let’s get baking!

Time: 1 hour
Yield: 12-15 donuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cups whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract 

Glaze:

  • 1 ½ cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 2-5 Tbsp. milk
  • Yellow food dye (or color of your choice)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and grease a donut pan. Set aside. 
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside. 
  3. In a separate, smaller bowl, whisk together the melted butter and milk. This mixture will look a tad lumpy – don’t worry! 
  4. Whisk in the egg and vanilla to the butter and milk mixture. 
  5. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry and whisk until the mixture is nice and smooth. 
  6. Scoop the batter into the greased donut pan. Spread the batter evenly into the pan. Fill each mold about ¾ of the way full. 
  7. Bak for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
  8. Remove the donuts from the pan and allow them to cool on a wire rack. 
  9. To make the glaze, whisk together the confectioner’s sugar and milk 1 Tbsp. at a time until smooth. Add in the food dye. 
  10. Once the donuts have cooled, dip the face up side of each donut down into the glaze. Allow excess glaze to drip back into the bowl. 
  11. While the glaze is still wet, sprinkle on your favorite festive sprinkles. 
  12. Enjoy!
