Happy Presidents Day! Today, we celebrate the great leaders who have shaped our nation. And what better way to commemorate this occasion than with a delicious dessert that pays homage to the fresh, vibrant flavors that represent our country. With layers of juicy berries and fluffy whipped cream, this Presidents Day trifle dessert is the perfect treat. Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 4-5 trifles or 1 large trifle
Ingredients:
- 1 carton of strawberries, washed, dried, and chopped
- 1 carton of blueberries, washed and dried
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 5 Tbsp. confectioners sugar
- 2 tsp. Vanilla extract
Directions:
- Wash and pat dry the strawberries and blueberries. Chop the strawberries up into small pieces.
- Place the heavy whipping cream in a stand mixer with the whisk attachment and mix on medium speed until the consistency starts to look like a cool whip. Add in the sugar and vanilla. About 6-8 minutes.
- Layer the strawberries in the bottom of your trifle dish about an inch and a half high.
- Next, use a piping bag or spoon in the next layer of whipped cream.
- Add blueberries on top of the whipped cream. Depending on the size of your trifle dish, continue layering repeating the steps above until the dish is full.
