1. Explore Flow vs. Control
To “go with the flow” means to let a situation play out as is instead of trying to control what happens. Share an example of a time you went with the flow and accepted things as they were. Then ask your child to share their own experience.
2. Discuss Times to Go Against the Flow
Fish in the ocean swim with the flow (the current) if it will get them to a better habitat, food, or away from predators. Other times, they swim against it because it would take them far away from their home. What might someone need to go against the flow of in their life?
3. Act Out Your Family Flow
As a family, act out a situation where things don’t go as planned. Maybe act out a day trip going wrong or choosing what to watch on TV getting out of control. Then act out how you could “go with the flow” in that situation and respond calmly.
4. Let Creativity Flow
Take out all the art supplies you have at home, and lay it all on the table. Then start creating an art piece as a family without making a plan beforehand. Let your creativity flow and see what you make![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][/vc_column][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
