First, ask your child about a time they have been far from home.

How did it feel? What did they miss?

Then, help them create a “Far-From-Home” kit like astronauts do!

In the past, astronauts could only bring items that fit in a Personal Preference Kit (PPK). This was the size of a lunchbox!

This kit might hold things like family photos, keepsakes, and books. Now, astronauts can bring 3.3 lbs of their own stuff to space.

Have your children select a container like a lunchbox or suitcase and fill it with items that would brighten their day while away from home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
