Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 10 oz. mini marshmallows
  • 3 3/4 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 1/4tsp. green food dye
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate
  • candy eyes

Directions:

  1. Lightly grease a 9″ x 9″ pan with non-stick spray then set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter and marshmallows over medium to low heat. Mix with a wooden spoon until it is completely melted.
  3. Once this mixture is nice and melted, turn off the heat and add the green food dye and mix until it is evenly incorporated.
  4. Add in the Rice Krispie cereal and mix it all together until everything is nicely combined.
  5. Pour the Rice Krispie mix into the prepared pan. Lightly wet your hands with water then press the Rice Krispies down into the pan. The water on your hands will help prevent them from sticking too much!
  6. Let the Rice Krispies sit in the fridge for a few minutes while we prep the chocolate and candy eyes.
  7. Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals mixing in between unit it is completely melted.
  8. Have your candy eyes ready to go in a dish.
  9. Lay a piece of parchment paper on your work surface and cut the Rice Krispies into evenly slices rectangles.
  10. Dip one end of the rectangle in the melted chocolate covering about 1/2″ – 1″ over the top. This will be Frankensteins hair.
  11. Lay the Rice Krispie treat back on the parchment paper to let the chocolate set. repeat this for each one.
  12. With the remaining chocolate leftover, place it into a piping bag or a small zip lock bag and cut a very small tip off.
  13. Pipe a mouth, stitches, eyebrows and make them look however you want, be creative! Place two small dots of chocolate where you want the candy eyes to stick.
  14. Let the chocolate set completely before enjoying. Have fun and be creative with these!
