Help children explore the countless reasons to be grateful all around them with a delightful Gratitude Walk!
You’ll Need:
-
Binoculars
-
Categories list
-
Camera or Paper and pencil
First, invite your children on a “Gratitude Walk” around your neighborhood. Tell them they’ll be searching for different things they’re grateful for in various categories.
Copy down this list of categories:
-
An animal you are grateful exists
-
A view you are grateful to see
-
A smell you enjoy outside
-
A sound that soothes you
-
A color that makes you happy
-
Something you like the feeling of
-
A person that makes them smile
Read the list aloud for the whole family and explain everyone should be on the lookout for something in each category while on your walk.
Let the kids use binoculars if available to look around while outdoors. Have them take pictures of the things they find or write down what they see on a piece of paper.
If you’d like to make it extra fun, provide a small treat or prize for every person who finds something in each category or for the person who finds something in each category first!
