Time: 35 minutes
Yield: 8-10 nests

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pretzel sticks, mini
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • ¼ cup blue candy melts
  • 2 Tbsp. white candy melts

Directions:

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper then set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a large microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals until completely melted and smooth. Mix between each interval.
  3. Add the pretzel sticks to the melted chocolate and mix to coat each pretzel.
  4. Use two forks to transfer the chocolate coated pretzels to the prepared cookie sheet. Place them into a small pile to replicate a bird’s nest.
  5. Once all of the pretzels are used up, transfer the cookie sheet to the fridge to firm up.
  6. In the meantime, melt the blue candy melts in 30 second intervals mixing between each until completely melted. Transfer the candy melts to a piping bag and pipe small egg shaped candy melts onto parchment paper. Allow these to sit in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
  7. After the blue candy melt eggs have set, melt down the white candy melts. Use a small pastry brush to splatter onto the blue eggs to give it a robin’s egg effect. To do this, dip the brush into the white candy melts then flick it onto the eggs by tapping and flicking it against your finger to splatter onto the eggs.
  8. Allow the eggs to sit in the freezer once more for another 5 minutes.
  9. Now you can go ahead and remove them and place the eggs in the chocolate nest!
  10. Enjoy![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
